Dark Matter

“Dark Matter #1” will be a numbered collection and revolve completely around the color black and all its forms. The number of pieces in this collection will revolve entirely on how much original material I can accumulate and put together. 
The Story of “Dark Matter #1”. 
I happened upon a box of handmade glass beads at a store here in Colorado that’s been around since the 70’s. 
I’m not going to say the name because there’s so many treasures there that don’t exist anywhere else, that I want to keep it my secret. 
The black beads that hang are handcrafted and I’ve never seen them anywhere in my travels or online. 
I’m hoping to go back and get the rest of them before they’re gone because they just don’t exist anywhere else. 
I’ve also decided to start incorporating leather into my work and this is the first piece to do so. The circular frills you see mid-drape is actually leather that I layered, trimmed and burnt. 
I did this to add another layer of texture to an already extremely textured work of art. 
There are also beautifully polished matte colored stones incorporated into this piece that add a grounded feeling to an otherwise eccentric work. 
In 2025 I’m pushing myself to create pieces that push my personal creative boundaries, as well as the boundaries of jewelry creation. 
Some of my work will lean towards the traditional, and other pieces (starting with this one), will go all in on pushing the boundaries.
